Winslow Junction - Train Graveyard

Winslow Junction, NJ

Winslow Junction is the home of the Southern Railroad Company of New Jersey.

On July 21, 1922 there was a train derailment at this site. Seven people were killed and 89 were injured when the train derailed going 90 mph. There is still some rail activity still and you may likely see some employees. There is a sign to stop in at the office, which I did and was given permission to take pictures but was asked not to touch the rail cars. There are not a lot of rail cars here, less then 10 I believe but was still an interesting place to visit if you like history, nature and old stuff.
